This Could be the REAL Reason You Have Acid Reflux


Are you dealing with acid reflux? Are you tired of always feeling that yucky burning feeling coming up your throat? I have something to tell you; our beliefs on acid reflux and how to manage it could be all wrong!

Doctors like to treat acid reflux with symptom management, "here, take this pill to suppress your acid'. This thinking could dig you deeper into the acid hole!

Acid reflux could be all about too little stomach acid not too much! You see, if your stomach doesn't release enough acid during digestion, your food will rot in the stomach, leading to fermentation acid travelling up your esophagus. As you can see, the root issue wasn't excessive acid production, it was not enough!

There are multiple holistic approaches to supporting this kind of acid reflux. Often times I recommend that my clients try taking 1/2 tsp of raw Apple Cider Vinegar 15 minutes before a meal where you typically deal with acid reflux. A second approach that could be taken is using betaine hydrochloride capsules, which work to mimic the acid naturally produced in your stomach during digestion. These capsules can be used in the same way as the apple cider vinegar described above.

When a client begins working with one of the two approaches above, I would have them watch for certain symptoms to tell if the approach is working or not; if they feel a burning in the pit of their stomach, than the stomach likely has enough acid and does not need any extra, but if they are still dealing with acid reflux, I usually recommend increasing the dose of our approach.

Now in saying this, there are some cases where someone may simply be producing too much acid in their stomach. This is why it is important to not take the information in the blog as specific heath advice for your case, but to be properly assessed by a Doctor, natural health practitioner, or your trusted health care provider if you feel you are dealing with an acid related issue.
